Fiu in Adriatic

The Yacht FIU

Fiu is a Grand Soleil 46.3 built in 2003 by a reputable Italian yard, Cantiere Del Pardo. She is a modern performance cruiser built to the highest European standards (EEC category A) as a safe and quick passage maker that can satisfy the requirements of the most demanding sailors.

Grand Soleil 46.3 is an elegant, fast cruising yacht with excellent characteristics such as sea kindliness, safety, comfort, superior internal volume, layout and sailing performance. She is easy to handle by shorthand crew and has the capability to impress on the racing circuit as well. The classic lines, which are typical of the Grand Soleil & Swan, are destined to remain beautiful forever.

Although FIU just completed circumnavigation she is well maintained and is now ready to go again. This beautiful yacht once again demonstrated that Grand Soleil 46.3 is a thoroughbred ocean racer as well as safe, comfortable and very fast performance cruiser. She is equipped to the Australian Cat 1 Ocean racing standards and has loads of extras: wind generator, solar panels, oversized alternator and gel-battery bank, complete set of Raymarine instruments with an excellent hydraulic autopilot, HF radio with the e-mail modem, extra chain and anchors, folding prop, cruising and triradial racing sails (10 sails in total, including two spinnakers and full batten main), two spinnaker poles, all oversized winches and additional two spinnaker winches, radar, chart-plotter and onboard computer with worldwide electronic charts. With her teak deck, blue hull and classic lines she is a real eye-catcher in every harbour.

In 1998 Grand Soleil 46.3 was voted 'Yacht of the Year' by the reputable and widely read German Magazine 'Yacht'.
